Anxiety

Reviewed by Jeremy Phelps, MA, LCPC

Anxiety can sound like a loop of what-ifs, feel like a tight chest, or show up as trouble sleeping, restlessness, and irritability. Therapy helps you notice what sets it off, interrupt the loop, and build a steadier baseline.

What this looks like in therapy.

We start by mapping where anxiety shows up in your life and what it looks like in your body and your thinking.

From there we work with evidence-based tools, primarily CBT and ACT, to shift the patterns that keep it running.

Over time the goal is to change your relationship to anxiety so it stops running the show. Eliminating it entirely is not realistic, and trying tends to make it worse.
